Fayetteville, Athens of the Ozarks! The Community - Lafayette, Arkansas
Fayetteville has long been considered the entertainment capital of Northwest Arkansas, and a huge part of that reason is Dickson Street and downtown, which serves as the epicenter of fun throughout the region. Dickson Street is the heartbeat of Fayetteville, and its energy will reinvigorate even the most exhausted visitor. Here, you'll find George's Majestic Lounge, the oldest and longest-running club and live-music venue in Arkansas. Some of the nation's best-known names in music have played on Dickson Street. And, the combination of the Walton Arts Center and TheatreSquared make this area the headquarters for performance arts in Northwest Arkansas.
Downtown is also home to the Outdoor Refreshment Area that allows Fayetteville's guests 21 and older to carry and consume alcoholic beverages in designated cups within the boundary of the district. Participants must be wearing an official wristband, which are provided at partner establishments within the district. Need more convincing?
